This Privacy Policy explains how HMT Security Services & Consult (“HMT”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use our website at hmtsecurityservices.com or make an enquiry with us. We are committed to handling your information lawfully and with discretion, in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.

Who we are

HMT Security Services & Consult is a licensed supplier of security and defence systems, registered in Uganda under the Companies Act 2012 (Reg. 80034085340046). What information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us and the minimum our website needs to operate:

• Enquiry details. When you submit the enquiry form, we collect your name, organisation, role, email address, phone number, area of interest, and the details of your requirement.
• Technical data. Our web server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and diagnostics, as almost all websites do.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and our website sets no tracking cookies on your device.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry, verify the authority behind it, and provide quotations or information.
• To communicate with you about your enquiry and any resulting engagement.
• To maintain the security and proper functioning of our website.

We rely on your consent (given when you submit the form) and our legitimate business interest in responding to enquiries as the basis for this processing.

How your information is shared

We treat client and enquiry information as confidential. We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. We may share it only where necessary to respond to your enquiry, to comply with a legal obligation, or with service providers who help us operate (for example, our email provider). Any such provider is required to protect your data.

Third-party services

• Maps. Our Contact page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap to show our office location.
• Email delivery. Enquiry submissions are delivered to us by email.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to and manage the enquiry and any resulting relationship, and to meet legal or record-keeping requirements, after which it is securely deleted.

How we protect your information

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. Given the nature of our work, discretion and secure handling are central to how we operate.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate data;
• ask us to delete your data, where there is no legal reason to keep it;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
• withdraw consent you have given.

Children

Our website and services are intended for organisations and professional clients, not children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
